PRESENTATION OBJECTIVES:
At the conclusion of this program,
the participants will be able to:
1) Discuss the potential of spinal plasticity to restore respiratory motor
function after spinal cord injury;
2) Outline cellular/synaptic mechanisms of respiratory plasticity following
intermittent hypoxia;
3) Identify potential molecular targets for therapeutic enhancement of
spinal respiratory plasticity;
4) Describe the potential of
RNA interference to regulate spinal respiratory plasticity and functional recovery
from spinal cord injury.
