PRESENTATION OBJECTIVES

At the conclusion of this program, the participants will be able to:

1)  Define and discuss the pathophysiological changes in the vascular response after spinal cord that contributes to the development of neuropathic pain.

2) Outline chronic inflammatory conditions in injured spinal cords underlying neuropathic pain.

3)  Identify the need to develop therapeutic strategies to counteract chronic inflammation and aberrant vascular changes after spinal cord injury to be able to alleviate neuropathic pain.
