METRO ACCESSIBILITY OVERVIEW

Metrorail and Metrobus serve a population of 3.5 million within a 1,500 square-mile area, and the system is considered one of the most accessible transit systems in the world.

Metro continually strives to provide easy access for all customers. Whether it's elevator access from street level to the train platform or low floor and lift-equipped buses, Metro is working to make the system accessible to customers with disabilities.

Metro's quarterly newsletter, ADA On Board, provides additional information on ADA Programs. To view the latest issue, click here .

MetroAccess customers and their companions ride free on buses and trains for an 18-month trial period. See the MetroAccess page for details.

The base boarding fare is $2.50.

MetroAccess customers who want to take a trip beyond 3/4-mile of an established Metrobus stop or Metrorail station will be charged a $1 surcharge per every three miles up to a maximum of $4 per one-way trip.
