PRESENTATION OBJECTIVES:

At the conclusion of this program, the participants will be able to:
1.  Understand the major factors that lead to regenerative failure in the injured adult visual system
2.  Identify the role(s) that gene therapy may have in promoting retinal ganglion cell regeneration.
3.  Outline the advantages of using bridging grafts to bypass optic nerve injury sites.
4.  Describe how chimeric, genetically modifed grafts may be used in CNS repair in the clinic.
