JAKEMAN

At the conclusion of this program, the participants will be able to:

•  Describe the rationale for examining genetic variation in cellular response to traumatic spinal cord injury.

•  Define the relationship between cellular composition and extracellular matrix deposition at the site of a spinal cord injury.

•  Identify the role of ECM composition in directing axonal growth at the site of injury.

•  Describe the paradoxical relationship between density of axonal growth and functional recovery in models of spinal cord injury.
