At the conclusion of this presentation,
attendees will be able to:
1) Identify the biomechanical phenomena represented in the different types of
in vitro models of traumatic neural injury.
2) Explain the advantages and disadvantages of using cells and tissues to model
complex traumatic neural injury.
3) Describe the contribution of in vitro model work to our understanding of
injury mechanisms and their potential for further evaluation.
4) Explain the benefit of examining injury mechanisms using both in vitro and
in vivo modeling in combination with clinical observations.
