1) Define what happens neuro-physiologically to the spinal cord following injury.
2) Discuss the acute and sub-acute changes of the GU, GI, skin, musculoskeletal and immune systems following SCI.
3) Understand what physiological changes occurs with “normal” aging.
4) Describe what physiological changes are altered in aging after a SCI.
5) Discuss the theories of functional loss seen in an individual who is aging with a SCI.
6) Describe the theories of lack of functional improvement in a geriatric individual who sustains a SCI.
7) Discuss the issues of “Curing” spinal cord injury in the aging individual.
