“Metabolic
Dysfunction and Oxidative Stress after TBI in Immature Rats”
Speaker:
Courtney L. Robertson, University of Maryland School of Medicine
July
28, 2008
Objectives:
At
the conclusion of this program, the participants will be able to:
- Identify the alterations in cerebral
metabolism that occur following TBI in the developing brain.
- Discuss the significance of oxidative
stress after TBI and identify the potential vulnerability of the immature
brain to free radical injury.
- Outline the impact of oxidative stress
on brain metabolism in pediatric TBI, and identify potential neuroprotective
approaches based on this pathology.
