Ever wonder what the injured human brain looks like? At this year's WiNTR lunch workshop expert neuropathologist Dr. Willie Stewart will providean overview of the neuropathology of human traumatic brain injury (TBI) and walk attendees through real-life examples of amyloid, tau, and other injury-induced pathologies in acute and long-term survival cases selected from the Glasgow Human TBI Archive-the largest collection of human TBI tissue in the world. Short talks will follow on the history of the Glasgow TBI Archive, how it can be used for your research, and how to design studies using human samples.

This is an opportunity to informally network in an awe-inspiring environment and to meet Dr. Mary Ellen Michel, PhD, Program Director, Traumatic Brain Injury and Stroke Rehabilitation, NCMRR, Eunice Kennedy Shriver NICHD/NIH. With broad experience in neurotrauma and a presence at NIH since 1986, Dr. Michel is a rich source of information for both junior and senior investigators. Come prepared with questions! We will ask you to write your questions down on cards, which will then be presented to Dr. Michel for discussion.
Georgia O’Keeffe was devoted to creating imagery that expressed what she called “the wideness and wonder of the world as I live in it.” Welcoming visitors from all over the world, it is the only museum in the United States dedicated to an internationally-known woman artist.
