Our Committees
NNS Committees play a key role in advancing the Society’s mission by focusing on specific areas of strategic importance. Comprised of dedicated members from the neurotrauma community, each committee contributes expertise, drives initiatives, and supports the ongoing growth and impact of the Society.

Communication and Marketing Committee
The Communications and Marketing Committee, composed of a chair and at least two Society members, works with the Executive Director and Secretary to manage communications and marketing; including social media, newsletters, website content, branding, media relations, and membership campaigns. It ensures unified messaging across committees, with all major proposals submitted to the Council for approval.

Membership Committee
The Membership Committee is chaired by the current Secretary. The committee also includes three Society members serving three-year terms. Its primary role is to grow individual membership and review membership applications.
Applicants may be approved by the committee, with at least a
two-thirds majority vote required for acceptance.

TEAM Committee
TEAM (Training, Education, and Mentoring) is an NNS committee focused on strengthening the neurotrauma community by fostering meaningful professional relationships, mentorship, networking, education, and career development opportunities across all career stages.
Advocacy Committee
The Advocacy and Policy Committee shall be comprised of a chair, and at least two (2) other members of Council. This committee will be responsible for advancing advocacy efforts to further the Society’s objectives. Proposals that are recommended by this committee shall be submitted to the Council for approval.

This committee serves as liaison between the membership and the publisher of the Journal, offering advice and comment on general publication policies and fees.

Finance Committee
The Finance Committee, chaired by the current Treasurer, includes key officers and two member advisors. It monitors the Society’s investments and provides recommendations, with any changes requiring approval from the Officers and Councilors at the Annual Meeting or via email.
