TRAINEE TRAVEL AWARD

The National Neurotrauma Society offers Trainee Travel Awards to ensure that undergraduate students, graduate students, and postdoctoral fellows are given an opportunity to attend the conference and present their work. Any trainee who registers for the conference and also submits an abstract may apply for a travel award. The selection process includes abstract review as well as consideration of details from a cover letter and letter of recommendation.

Eligibility Requirements

For the purpose of Neurotrauma registration, the definition of a “Trainee” is a member delegate who meets at least one of the following criteria:

All accepted abstracts will be published in the Journal of Neurotrauma Bi-Monthly issue immediately prior to the conference. 

HOW TO APPLY

You must register for the NNS annual symposium and submit an abstract in order to apply for a Trainee Travel Award. Should your abstract not be accepted, a refund for your registration fee may be requested.

Register for the NNS Annual Symposium:

Once your registration is complete, you will receive a link to submit an abstract via the registration confirmation email. You may apply for a Trainee Travel Award through the abstract submission portal.

Please be prepared to share the following documents in the application: CV, cover letter from applicant, and letter of recommendation.

  • Cover letter should include a statement about your career goals and describe how attending the NNS meeting will support these goals. Additional information related to distance traveled in your professional journey and barriers overcome may also be shared.
  • Letter of recommendation should be written by your mentor or program/department chair
