POSTER COMPETITION & TRAINEE AWARDS
To encourage presentation of high quality basic science and clinical research at the National Neurotrauma Society Meeting, six awards will be offered for the top Trainee Poster Competition finalists with the highest judging scores. All Student Competition finalists will be recognized during the Awards Ceremony.
The Trainee Poster Competition winners will receive:
Abstracts selected for presentation (either oral or poster) will be published in the Journal of Neurotrauma June issue. Judging will occur during a live session on Monday. Awards will be presented at the Awards Ceremony Dinner on Tuesday evening.
To encourage presentation of high quality clinical research at the National Neurotrauma Society Meeting, two awards will be offered for clinical research presented by a medical student, resident, fellow, or early-career attending within 3 years of completion of their residency. The recipient must be a member of either the AANS or CNS. If the recipient is a medical student, resident, or fellow their research mentor must also be a member of either the AANS or CNS.
One award will be given for cranial trauma and one for either spine or peripheral nerve trauma however the judges reserve the right to issue both awards in either category. The $1000 cash awards will honor outstanding abstracts presented as either oral posters or exhibited posters at the meeting judged on the basis of scientific merit, clinical relevance and innovation. Abstracts selected for presentation (either oral or poster) will be published in the Journal of Neurotrauma June issue. Judging will occur during a session on Monday afternoon. Awards will be presented at the Trainee Poster Competition Awards Ceremony.
NNS provides a limited number of trainee and diversity awards each year to ensure trainees are given every opportunity to attend the conference and present their work. Anyone who registers to attend the conference and also submits an abstract may apply for a trainee and diversity grant. Awards ($300) are based on financial need and merit.
To apply for a trainee and diversity award, you must register online, then submit an abstract in order to activate the trainee and diversity award application section. In the event your abstract is not accepted, a refund for your registration fee may be requested.
